NS Estimated Delivery Date 2.0: Real-time Order Tracking for Shopify

NS Estimated Delivery Date 2.0: Real-time Order Tracking

On this page

Let’s meet the new Order Tracking feature in NS Estimated Delivery Date version 2.0, a meaningful update that expands the app beyond delivery estimates before purchase. With this feature, Shopify merchants can still keep customers informed about the delivery status in real-time after purchase. Merchants thereby deliver a more complete and trustworthy shopping experience for customers.

How does Order Tracking work in NS EDD?

Order Tracking in NS EDD is designed to work automatically and fit naturally into a store’s existing workflow.

Auto-create a branded order tracking page

Once the feature is enabled, NS EDD creates a branded order tracking page for the store. From that point on, whenever an order is fulfilled, the order and its tracking information are synced into the app.

Customers can then check their order status themselves by entering their order number or tracking number on this page.

Easily customize your page

The tracking page shows clear, standardized delivery statuses, estimated delivery date & timeline, carrier information, and order details, depending on the merchant’s settings.

Merchants can customize the page design and control what information is displayed, without any code.

Redirect all customers to your page

To make the experience consistent across touchpoints, NS EDD allows merchants to add a link of the order tracking page to Shopify order confirmation emails.

Merchants can also optionally redirect carrier tracking links to the store’s branded tracking page. This retains customers on your store instead of sending them to external carrier websites.

Why you’ll love this new update

Order Tracking in NS EDD helps merchants reduce friction and improve the post-purchase experience by:

  • Giving customers a self-service way to check order progress reduces the need to contact support
  • Providing merchants with a centralized view of shipments so it’s easier to spot delays or delivery issues early
  • Showing the shipping progress right within your store instead of pointing customers to the carrier’s site

NS EDD & Order Tracking: Streamline the shopping experience and reinforce trust at every touchpoint

With version 2.0, Order Tracking and EDD work together as one continuous experience. Customers see delivery expectations before checkout and then see real shipping progress and the same EDD after checkout. This consistency reduces uncertainty, reinforces trust, and creates a smoother post-purchase journey.
